At this point, if you’ve spent more than five minutes in the rap underground music scene, you MOST definitely know who Nine Vicious is. You’ve either heard his name in a random Discord chat, seen him pop up on your fyp, or stumbled across one of his chaotic internet beefs. Whether you’re a fan, a hater, or someone pretending not to care, his name has crossed your screen and it’s not going anywhere soon. Part of his appeal comes from how unpredictable he is, from messy startup allegations to late night sneak disses and troll fueled drama, he stays in the conversation. He’s what I like to call "The Wildcard" in the rap scene. you never know if he’s about to do something incredibly wholesome like hug a fan and give someone there flowers or drop a questionable tweet for absolutely no reason, but either way, he keeps people watching.
And honestly? The numbers back it up. Sitting at around 630,000 monthly listeners on Spotify alone, Nine’s rise has been insanely quick considering he’s only taken music seriously for less than eight months. With projects like "For Nothing", "Tumblr Music", and the beloved "Studio Addict", he’s already shown off a versatility most artists take years to develop. One day he’s screaming over a distorted metallic like Ken Carson style of production, and the next he’s singing smooth R&B vocals like it’s second nature to him. Say what you want about him, love him or hate him, troll him or defend him, Nine Vicious does not seem capable of making a bad song. That’s part of why the underground can’t stop talking about him, even when they "swear" they’re “so over the drama and all over the place with his antics"
As for what’s next? Nobody fully knows, and that mystery is half the fun. He’s been teasing his next album, “Emotions,” and the snippets alone have already converted a bunch of former haters into fans. There’s also that strange tension with Young Thug floating around, very unclear, messy, and very on brand for Nine. (Hopefully they get that relationship resolved) What he needs right now is simple: keep dropping on different platforms like what hes been doing on Youtube and Soundcloud Archive pages, play his cards smart, maybe squash a few beefs… or start some new ones👀 if that's the route he wants to take... Even if he’s slowing down on releases at the moment, Touring, and just taking time working on his craft, one thing is 100% for certain: Nine Vicious is not stepping out of the spotlight anytime soon.
